What a day!
Wow okay so where do i start? I am sorry that I havn’t written in so long, I’ve been super busy! I spent the month of January in Israel, and i got to do a music tour, which was really fun. Most of the songs that i have ever written, were written in Israel. There is something so special about the land, the people, the air. It was my first time back since my years abroad in seminary ( 4 years ago!!!) Way overdue. The year and six months i spent in the holy land after high school were the best times of my life! It changed me as a person, the way i see the world, and inspired me to write about everything that I went through.
Almost every song on my two albums was written there and i had so many beautiful, and inspirational moments. This time around I got to see teachers, friends, family members, fans, and got to have my favorite drink in the whole world……..drum roll please….ISRAEL ICED COFFEE. Go out and get yourself a cup, you will not be disappointed. I think i had a nice, sugary, creamy, blended, coffee almost every day 
eek, I’ll try not to think about the calories.
OK so what i really want to tell you about is what went down today. I had a great time this morning doing an interview with a very prominent newspaper in New York about Jewish women in the arts, my experiences singing for women only etc. More details to come soon. From there i ran to do girls choir in a local High School in Brooklyn. You should here those gals sing! They are doing great and have their first performance this week!
The next activity of the day was a concert in Bais Rivkah High School. I got ready and hopped in a cab. The first crazy thing was that i went to elementary school there and have not been in that building in about 14 years. (My family moved to NJ when i was in 7th grade so i switched schools.) Once the show started i saw 100′s of girls in front of me, many of whom were wearing crazy costumes, in honor of the jewish holiday “Purim” coming up. I have never seen a crowd with so much energy and personality! Neither have I ever heard an audience that knew my lyrics SO well that i could barely hear myself sing at some points! It was soo much fun watching the girls dance, sing, and sway.
That might have been one of the most enjoyable concerts that i have ever done. What topped the night off was the beautiful feedback that i received from the faculty. Sometimes i get interesting comments about my music being too funky, too english, too whatever. Well these special teachers/faculty members were so sweet and told me the evening was inspiring for the girls, and that the songs had nice Jewish content. I was wearing a colorful flowery (of course) dress and dangly aqua and gold earrings, and she complimented on how tznius I was. (as opposed to saying i was too colorful or different) That meant THE WORLD to me.
All i want to do is help women/girls, to inspire them to love being jewish,and express myself in this beautiful and vast world that G-d created. And the MOST beautiful thing was……they got it.They understood the message i was trying to convey, and instead of telling me to wear black and stand still the whole concert, they let me sing and dress colorfully, tzniusly, and made me feel so good about what i am doing. Sometimes i get feedback that is a little different than that so it was really refreshing and uplifting for me to hear
My message to you all is keep climbing the ladder and going for your dreams even if you fall sometimes, or if people tell you that the ladder is too high and you won’t make it. You will make it but you have to keep going up even when people try to push you down. In the past I have wondered if it’s worth doing music. People sometimes share negative and hurtful opinions, and I only want to do the right thing and inspire others . Well you know what? it’s worth it. For me to help one Neshama (soul) or uplift someone from feeling down, makes this all worth it. So I, Shaindel Antelis, will keep on climbing.

I must tell you what a tzadik (righteous person) my little brother is. A few months ago he said “shaindel can you write me a song about how amazing Hashem (G-d) is, and how He is everywhere”? NEW MUSIC VIDEO!
Who’s ready for music video #2?
It will be out a few short weeks and the song is none other than THE LIGHT listen below for Women Only! The song is about how each and every woman and girl is beautiful and powerful! There will be lots and lots of flowers, princesses……. well i can’t give away everything you’ll just have to wait and see 
Women and girls have the ability to spread so much light and goodness into the world if we do what’s right. G-d wants us to be ourselves and express ourselves but in an appropriate way. What a cold and snowy weekend!
Can you believe this snow in october?! I was shocked to see the beautiful white snowflakes sticking to the ground this early in the season. If you’re like me you stayed inside all shabbas and dreamed of spring. (Only six months away ). Either way here’s a new song to warm you up a little. It’s about how yes the weather can be very cold and unpredictable, and life can be very scary and confusing. If we remember that Hashem is guiding us through the cold nights, the sun can shine all year long. I feel like I always end up in the same situations which equals me asking G-d for very similar things all the time, usually in song form. Here’s my new song called….
